Dear GirlShrink,
A few months ago (early December), I met a guy at a party. We both drank a bit, enough to loosen us up, but not a ridiculous amount. We left with some other friends to go play poker, where we held hands and cuddled for a bit while playing. After, people left and we made out for a little. It was all really cute and innocent. He would have come back to my room, but we decided it was a bad idea since he had to be up early the next day for something important, and he would have gotten no sleep if he had gone back with me.
After that we didn’t talk until last weekend, when I saw him again for the first time. It was a two day event and throughout it, I caught him staring at me and I stared back and we had a mutual acknowledgment that there was something between us. The problem is that he never once came up to me and tried to initiate any conversation. I also texted him about things and he made no attempt to try to prolong the conversation. He seemed interested when we were across the room, but his actions and conversation suggest the opposite. What do you think? Should I text him and ask him about it? He goes to a school about two hours away, so I can’t just run into him randomly around campus.
Thanks.

Dear Mixed Signals,
I think he is attracted to you. That’s it. If he wanted to purse it further he would of. Of course there are always exceptions to this rule, and some guys need to be pursued because they are afraid to take action. BUT I’m not feeling that that is what’s going on with this guy. It was just a flirtation, nothing more. I think you should let it go, unless or until you see him again.
